What time does the Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner fight start?
40-year-old boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has reunited with longtime trainer Freddie Roach, and the duo will return to the ring Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to face Adrien Broner.
Pacquiao turned back the clock and looked sensational against Lucas Matthysse last July, picking up his first win by TKO in nine years. So, what time should you tune in?
The Pacquiao vs. Broner main card will begin at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showtime pay-per-view.
There are a total of four fights on the main card. You can expect the main event to begin after 11:15 p.m. ET.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner — preview, start time, how to watch, full card
Manny Pacquiao has been beating the odds since he was a teenager in the Philippines stuffing his pockets with metal at weigh-ins so he wouldn’t look like a 98-pound weakling.
Nearly a quarter century later, Pacquiao is still up for a challenge. He fights Sunday (AEDT) against Adrien Broner in a true crossroads bout that will determine a lot about his future in the ring.
Chasing a second fight with Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao will be tested by a younger and talented fighter who has a lot to prove himself.

The WBA welterweight champ is 40 now, an age where fighters either have long stopped lacing up the gloves or are very careful in picking opponents. Pacquiao is not only still fighting, but willing to take on a 29-year-old who thinks of himself as a young Mayweather.
And he’s not terribly concerned about the possibility he might lose.
“I still have that killer instinct and the fire in my eyes is still there,” Pacquiao said.
“That aggressiveness, the interest in this career is still there 100 percent. The speed and the power are still there.”
That showed in a gym session this week in Hollywood, where Pacquiao looked sharp and fast while hitting the mitts with trainer Freddie Roach. The two have reunited for the fight, Pacquiao’s first in the U.S. in more than two years.
But while Pacquiao is favoured, there’s always a chance in boxing that age often catches up to a fighter in the wrong place — the ring.

And that adds some intrigue to seeing a fighter who has been so much of a part of the fabric of boxing for the last 15 years.
“He’s unbelievable,” Roach said.
“His work ethic is great, he has fast hands and he still hits hard. I think he actually wants to knock this opponent out.”
That may be asking a lot since Pacquiao went nearly a decade without knocking anyone out before stopping Lucas Martin Matthysse in a fight in Malaysia last July. But if Pacquiao needed any more motivation he got it after Broner mocked the Parkinson’s that Roach has.
Indeed, Broner has done his part to sell the fight by acting boorish and flashing money around like his mentor, Mayweather.
At this week’s final news conference, Broner went into a profane rant about Showtime announcer Al Bernstein, though his comments about Pacquiao were more respectful.
“Pacquiao’s a legend,” Broner said.
“He’ll always go down as one of the best in the boxing business. But I just feel like it’s my time to take over this sport and I’m coming to take the throne from Pacquiao.”
Broner (33-3-1, 24 knockouts) certainly has the skills to do just that. He has long been considered an elite fighter, though he has lost most of his bigger fights and tends to be undisciplined in the ring.
To beat Pacquiao he will have to use his speed to match that of the Filipino senator, and figure out a way to deal with an unorthodox style that has puzzled opponents since Pacquiao began fighting for $2 purses so he could help his mother feed the family.
“Adrien Broner is not a tune-up fight,” Pacquiao said.
“He’s a former champion. He’s fast, he moves fast and he’s a good boxer.”
Both would profit with a win, with Broner regaining some of his reputation and Pacquiao putting himself in line for another possible huge payday against Mayweather, who still says he is officially retired.
Pacquiao blamed an injured shoulder for his poor performance in the 2015 bout, a lacklustre affair won by Mayweather. A second Mayweather fight would cap Pacquiao’s career and put him closer to retirement and full-time duties in the Senate in his home country. It’s on Pacquiao’s mind, as well as the mind of his millions of fans.
“You cannot avoid people will ask if there’s a rematch with Floyd Mayweather,” Pacquiao said, “because I think they have a big question mark in their mind and also in their heart about what happened in that fight.”
Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien "The Problem" Broner is the first high-profile boxing matchup of 2019. At 40 years old, Pacquiao still has a massive audience, and Broner is perhaps the most polarizing fighter in the sport. Together, they're one of the most intriguing fights we'll see in 2019.
Here are the 10 things you should know about the bout.
Date and Time
The fight takes place on Saturday, January 19. The card begins at 9 pm ET. It takes place on the same day as the UFC's debut on ESPN. That event should provide some viewership competition for the Pacquiao-Broner fight.
Location
The bout takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This fight will be Pacquiao's first bout in the United States since November 2016 when the future Hall of Famer took a unanimous decision away from Jessie Vargas at the Thomas & Mack Arena, also in Vegas.
How to Watch
Showtime will broadcast and stream the bout as an exclusive pay-per-view. Fans can order it from their local cable or satellite provider, or watch it via live stream on the Showtime app.
What's at Stake?
Pacquiao is the WBA "regular" welterweight champion. His title will be on the line, but perhaps more important is a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. It's not confirmed, but there are rumors Pacquiao could get Mayweather out of retirement for another massive payday.
A win for Broner would be a career-saver. He needs a win over a big name, and few have more weight than Pacquiao.
Weigh-In Results
Both fighters made weight. Pacquiao came in just half-a-pound lighter than Broner.
Odds
Per Sportsbook, Pacquiao is a minus-300 favorite (h/tproboxingodds). Broner is a plus-235 underdog.
Undercard
Badou Jack vs. Marcus Browne
Nordine Oubaali vs. Rau'shee Warren for WBC bantamweight title
Jhack Tepora vs. Hugo Ruiz for interim WBA featherweight title
Last Time Out
In Pacquiao's last bout, he captured the WBA regular title with a dominant performance against Lucas Matthysse in July 2018. Pacquiao scored the seventh-round TKO. Matthysse looked as if he had one foot out the door in the fight. He looked like a shell of the fighter who was once one of the most feared in his weight region.
In any case, the win set Pacquiao up to sign with Premier Boxing Champions and Al Haymon, and it created another path to a potential fight with Mayweather.
In Broner's last bout, he walked away with a controversial draw against Vargas in April 2018 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. I thought Vargas deserved the decision, and Broner was fortunate to escape with a draw.
Best Bet Per Peter Kahn
According to Forbes' boxing odds expert Peter Kahn, the best bet to make on Saturday's fight is Pacquiao by decision. Kahn wrote:
"Although I feel Broner will be more competitive than many people have expressed, I don't see Broner winning this fight, so even though there's value at +258 (wager $100 to win $258) for Broner as an underdog, I simply don't see him winning the fight, therefore, the $100 isn't a wise bet."
